The main objective of this study is to develop a high sensitivity strain gauge suited to commercial applications. The materials investigated are to be polymeric in nature and carbon black will be added to change the electrical and mechanical properties in accordance with the percolation theories that have been developed to describe carbon - polymer composites. The fabrication process employed should be capable of producing a low cost and relatively robust sensor. Sensors should possess a high gauge factor sensitivity ; , good linearity and repeatability but low levels of hysteresis and creep. Biomedical sensors are of particular interest to this study at present and it is hoped that fabricated sensor could be integrated into a remote pressure sensing system, which will be novel in design and capable of measuring hydrostatic pressures. Six materials have been investigated to date Firstly, two forms of an RTV silicone rubber was examined. Following this thick film PVDF and a PVDF film were investigated. A polyethylene film has also been investigated and preliminary work using a polymer thick film with titanium oxide as the functional ingredient has also begun. In the case of the RTV silicone rubbers carbon black was added in order to prove the sensitivity. Each material was tested in terms of sensitivity or gauge factor ; , hysteresis, repeatability, reproducibility, creep and temperature coefficient of capacitance. The RTV silicone rubbers are known as Moldsil and Moldsil Soft. These were tested over a pressure range of 0 10 kPa. A comparison between these two materials show that Moldsil is a more sensitive material, displaying lower hysteresis and better repeatability than Moldsil Soft. Furthermore, the materials pressure sensing properties can be significantly improved through the addition of 6 wt.% carbon black. A thick film PVDF interdigitated capacitor was fabricated and tested under hydrostatic pressure, over a of 0 kPa. A PVDF film of thickness 110 mm was also formed into a capacitor, by screen-printing electrodes on either side to form an MIM capacitor. The thick film devices show the highest sensitivity and stability upon repeated cycling. The Polyethylene film displayed a higher sensitivity to pressure changes than all silicone and PVDF samples with similar or improved hysteresis and repeatability. However its reproducibility and creep have yet to be investigated. In all cases, the polymer materials displayed a degree of slippage and hysteresis, which is thought to be due to movement of the polymer chains. Therefore the properties of TiO2 thick film capacitors haven been investigated. Initial results have shown them to possess a high sensitivity to strain, with a gauge factor of 33. Their sensitivity to hydrostatic pressure has yet to be investigated.

Another potential problem involves the source of the active drug. The best source is the pure drug. If the pure drug substance is not available, it is common practice to use injectables, tablets, capsules or other dosage forms to obtain the active drug. Where this is necessary, the presence of excipients in the dosage form should be considered relative to the overall stability of the product. A consideration not generally addressed by physical and chemical stability studies of extemporaneous compounds is the question of microbiological stability. Concentrated syrups have high osmolality which provides a preservative effect. Elixirs and similar preparations are preserved by their alcohol concentrations or by a combination of sucrose, alcohol and other preservatives. Commercial vehicles generally are preserved by the addition of a suitable preservative in their formulation. Microbiological stability was not a consideration in this study. These preparations should be microbiologically stable because no significant dilution of the vehicle occurred, and the vehicles contained antimicrobials. STABILITY STUDY DESIGN The stability data presented in this and subsequent Secundum Artem issues resulted from a two year long stability study involving thirty different drugs and their stability as 1: mixtures of Ora Sweet: Ora Plus and Ora Sweet SF: Ora Plus. A survey mailed to community and hospital pharmacies was used to determine the active drugs and concentrations to be studied. The products and concentrations most often mentioned by these pharmacists resulted in a frequency list and, from this list, thirty drugs and their most frequently mentioned concentration in extemporaneously compounded oral liquids were selected for the overall study. Ten of these are presented in this issue of Secundum Artem. For each drug and each vehicle, approximately 800 mL of product was prepared. Sufficient powder was weighed, or a sufficient number of tablets capsules was obtained to provide the active ingredient. The tablets were pulverized, or capsules emptied, and the powder comminuted in a mortar with a pestle. A portion of the vehicle was used.

Plaintiff KENNETH LEE BELL is an inmate in the custody of the State of Georgia. He has sued defendants DR. OKUMOBI, DR. HARRIS, P.A. HERMAN, and P.A. SINCLAIR, alleging that the defendants violated his constitutional rights while he was incarcerated at Telfair State Prison in Helena, Georgia, and Bostick State Prison in Hardwick, Georgia. Plaintiff claims he was not properly treated for his Hepatitis C infection. He also claims that he was not given the proper medication and pain relief for the side effects from the treatment that he did receive. Plaintiff BELL is represented by legal counsel. Before the court are the defendants' MOTIONS FOR SUMMARY JUDGMENT. Tabs #21 and #35. The motions are supported by briefs Tabs #22 and #38 ; , affidavits, medical records, and a Statement of Undisputed Material Facts Tab #23 ; . As a consequence of his findings he can conclusively report that there is no longer any doubt the secret underground bases are real. But what is happening down there? What's going on underground, and undersea? Information keeps surfacing that strongly points to the reality not only of clandestine underground bases, but also of clandestine undersea bases. UFO lore is peppered with accounts of facilities jointly run by terrestrial humans and "others" whoever or whatever those "others" might ultimately prove to be. What is the truth of these stories? What is the clandestine "un-public" policy that is being concealed from the public? Dr. Sauder jumps straight into the documentary evidence and uncovers little-known, declassified memos going back to the Kennedy and Johnson administrations in the 1960s, and even rare memos from Project Paperclip in the 1940s! Also, new material from Larry Warren, the famous experiencer who co-authored the book, Left At East Gate, with Peter Robbins, that sheds new light on the incredible BentwatersWoodbridge UFO incident in the U.K. And new information from Nazi Germany how much technology filtered across the Atlantic from Nazi Germany to the USA after WW-II? The severity of symptoms and rate of progression vary considerably from patient to patient and range from asymptomatic to severe with early death. The variability is partly related to genotype over 200 different mutations have been identified ; . Although, at a population level, different genotypes tend to be associated with certain phenotypes, making it difficult to generalise findings from one country to another, the relationship between genotype and phenotype is not rigid, as background genetics and environment also play a role. Prediction of the clinical course of an individual patient based on genotype alone is uncertain. Gaucher's disease is classified into three subtypes by clinical features. Type I can present at any age and has predominantly visceral symptoms without neurological effects. Type II causes severe and permax.
